My mom has been attending the adult day care for two months. I would give the program 10 stars if I could. It is a pleasure and a relief to see her be so excited about leaving home in the morning and smiling when she comes home. Charles O.

My mom, Sharon L., enrolled in the Adult Day Care program in 2021. My mom’s friends were leaving her out of the social group that she had been familiar with for many years due to her declining cognitive abilities. I enrolled mom three days a week. At first Mom was shy and a bit overwhelmed with her new social routine, but within a month she had made friends and met a gentleman friend that she loves to dance with. The Adult Day Care program changed her life and gave her a purpose when she was feeling hopeless about her diagnosis and her future. Jodi L.

My mom was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and my father was her primary caregiver. He recently passed away, leaving me as her primary caregiver. I moved my mom and her three dogs into my house so I can take care of her, but with my busy work schedule, her socialization was limited. I enrolled Mom in The Volen Center’s Adult Day Care program in May of 2023. Since joining the day care program, my mom has come out of her shell, participates in amazing activities, giving her life meaning again.
